My passion for music began at a young age. By the time I was 14, my friend and I had created our own sound system, Djing at teenage parties for friends. While these events were great, they ignited a deeper desire within me to master the craft. Initially, I focused on dancehall and reggae, but over time, my true fascination shifted to mixing genres like house, UK garage, and jungle. I often took the opportunity to play hour-long uk garage/house sets at dancehall parties, experimenting with blending different sounds.
My musical foundation was built on my father’s and uncles’ record collections. Growing up, I was loved rare grooves, lovers rock, dancehall, and classic house. Being raised in Essex also exposed me to the local scene, including drum and bass and techno, which significantly influenced my style. Over the years, I evolved into an open-format Dj, where nothing is off-limits. My sets became known for their diversity, weaving together hip-hop, reggae, uk garage and freestyle elements to electrify the crowd and keep the dance floor moving. I was also deeply influenced by 80’s and 90’s pop and R&B, which helped shape my musical identity and inspired me to create my DJ name, DJ SEVEN SIX. I’m grateful to Rex Radio for giving me the freedom to be creative and for allowing me to host my own show.
